Default 55HP - Why?

OK - first off I tried the search and it did not work, and hasn't in some time.

My question is why do these builds require the HP to be lowered so much? What is the advantage of only having 55HP? I mean I know the Superior Runes lower your health by 75 each, but why reduce it so much (i.e. -50HP offhand). There must be a reason, just don't know what it is...

Thanks!

55hp -> prot spirit means you take 5 dmg per hit

if you had 105 it doesnt regen fats eough unless your against 2 or 3

33hp better imo, 8hp cant survive much degen

55 is just an easy to get to number, though all sorts of values can be got to

Read the skill descriptions...

Protective Spirit

For 5-19 seconds, target ally cannot lose more than 10% max health due to damage from a single attack or spell.

Health degeneration, enchantment strippers, energy denial, well timed interrupt and Vampiric Touch skill are the weak points of this spell. Of course overwhelming damage spam will eventually counter health regeneration even you would lose only -5 health per damage taken unless you have 8 hp or 33 hp max health.

How do you get 33hp? I have a 55 necro, and with 1 death I get to 13hp. BTW, 13hp = untouchable...for a while until DP is reduced. Of course you can only take on 12 at a time, because on the off chance that 13 hit you at one time, you'd die.

Ye I used to go around with 13hp, just hoping the level up hp change wouldn't scare me to death.

I've heard of a rarer then rhinos -20hp axe, but getting 33hp without DP is beyond me.

OK - I think I'm missing some math here. I tried this last night (only the spells, don't have money for new armor yet) - and was trying to figure out why it matters if your losing only 5.5HP per hit with 55, or if your losing 43.5HP with 435HP because technically you should reach zero at the same time. Oh well - whatever I guess it must work, so I'll just have to save up for some new armor....

when you are at 55hp and have the two skills to give you a +5 hp regen per second it is negating itself. When having 435HP there is no skill that will regen 43 hp fast enough.

A way to lower your health even more is Aura of the Lich. I don't know how much health you'll get but I think (55/2=27.5) 27 hp.
I don't know how you can get 33hp.

there's a -20 health focus for a presearing quest. it's probably a good item for a beginning invincimonk until the -50 one becomes available.

I don't think there's such thing as a 'beginning' invincimonk, since they are by definition mortal.

He just wants to say, that when you're not lvl 20 you can still get your health as low as possible. A -50 item will kill you with all the runes, a -20 will not kill you in the beginning. That's what moriz was trying to say.
